Weekly Learning Schedules ​ April 6, 2020 Dear Healy Parents, We hope you and your families are doing well and are staying healthy during this global crisis. This is an unprecedented challenge for all of us. Our Healy Elementary team is committed to providing your children with instruction and support in every way possible. We will continue to keep you updated, and we look forward to welcoming you back to your schools as soon as possible. Research shows that students that engage in Remote Learning opportunities actually foster critical skills such as independence, adaptability and perseverance. Thank you to for supporting our children academically throughout this time Throughout the past few weeks, and through comprehensive guidance from our state and district, our Healy administration, teachers and staff have been working to build effective digital plans that include, but are not limited to, online learning in multiple formats and capacities. As we continue to refine this process to ensure e-learning success for our students, we again thank you for your patience, diligence, and support. Below is an overview of our school-wide Healy Remote Learning Plan, which officially begins April 13th. Thank you for continuing to follow the statewide Stay at Home order to slow the spread of COVID-19. Please note that outside of food distribution, all CPS schools and playgrounds are closed to the public. The playgrounds in particular pose a high risk for transmission and it is critically important that we take these measures seriously and do our part to keep ourselves and our communities healthy. While the building is officially closed we will continue to work with the CPS Building and Facilities department and Sodexo Magic to undergo deep cleaning so that our school is thoroughly sanitized and ready for the future return of our staff and students. During this time, both the Healy Main Building and the Healy Annex will be closed for deep cleaning. We are providing all Healy students and parents with digital links to comprehensive learning activities for every grade level. These links will contain a variety of interactive activities, digital resources, project-based learning opportunities and enrichment lessons, as well as suggested activities to help students stay active at home. We have also provided you with a Guidance Document that outlines possible supports you may need to access all resources, including internet access guidance and digital support. All learning activities, for the duration of the school closure, may be accessed at any time if additional resources are needed or if time allows . Due to a limitation in resources, hard copies of your child’s grade level packet will be available at the Main Entrance of our school during the lunchtime hours of 9:00 AM-1:00 PM on Tuesday, 3/17/20 and Wednesday, 3/18/20. These packets are also linked below and may be printed at home for your convenience.
